St. George, Utah is a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts! We have everything from gorgeous slot canyons to world class biking trails right in our backyard. If you are looking for adventure and new experiences then you have come to the right place! Below are just some of our favorite things to do in the area. Whatever you do, make sure to take plenty of sunscreen and water!
Hiking
What’s not to love about hiking? Nothing beats getting out in the fresh air and surrounding yourself with nature and the beautiful ancient red rock formations of Southern Utah.
Paradise Rim Trail
The Paradise Rim trail is an easy trail that starts at the edge of a secluded neighborhood in St. George and takes you along cool, small red rock formations. If you go slightly off trail you can scramble up onto large red rock formations and get a stunning view of the whole area! It’s a wonderful trail that you can make as short or as long as the family wants.
Snow Canyon State Park Petroglyphs Trail
This moderate trail is about 5 miles round trip but leads to some amazing ancient petroglyphs. It has some incredible views along the way as well!
Kanarra Creek Trail
This is a fantastic trail that we think is right up there with the world class hikes in Zion National Park. It’s accessed from Kanarraville, UT about 25 minutes away from St. George. This trail crosses the creek a few times before entering some incredible slot canyons and eventually a rope ladder that you can climb up to view the falls.
The Subway
This stunning hike is on the more difficult side but you would be hard pressed to find a more amazing hike anywhere in the world. Permits are required to hike this trail but it is so worth it! There are two ways to hike it, but either way will take you to the Subway which is a beautiful natural tunnel that the river runs through. Prepare to walk through the stream for much of the hike while taking in breathtaking sights.
